The spotted bass on the Kowaliga Creek side of Lake Martin are making it difficult for me.

Winter 2010 - 2011 on Lake Martin
I've been bass fishing primarily Lake Martin the last few months with limited success. I've caught the majority of my bass on spinnerbaits and plastics fished on a jighead. I fooled around with a swimbait for a couple of trips and caught a decent largemouth bass out of a tree top. I plan on throwing a swimbait around the docks a lot this spring. I have posted a few of the reports on Spinnerbaits101.com.
Overall, I would have to give this winter a C- so far on Lake Martin. Usually I am hammering the spotted bass on a jig this time of year, but I can't seem to nail that bite down. It may be the weather or the fact that I have been fishing the river portion of Lake Martin instead of Kowliga Creek. I'm just trying to learn some new bass fishing waters. I guess my next trip will be to my old stomping grounds on Kowliga. The fish should be there.
It's strange, but there are times when I will not see another bass fisherman all day. I guess it's the economy.
